With Just 8 months to go for the grand sporting event, Olympics 2012, London, Great Britain, all the sport lovers around the globe are very much exited. The previous event that was held in Beijing was a grand success, China , a country that had made rapid developments in all fields over last 2 decade surprised the world by making the event the most memorable of all time. The event will take place in London from July 27 to 12 august.
- London will be the first city to host Olympics for 3 times, the previous events being held here 1908 and 1948.
- London was selected among the 5 cities, the defeated ones are Moscow, New-York, Madrid, Paris. London was selected during 117th OOC session at Singapore on July 6, 2005.
- 141 countries have been qualified till date for the event that is going to host 206 countries for the competition of 302 events in 26 sports.
- The number of participants are estimated to be 10,500.
- The event will occur in Wembley Stadium, Wembley Arena, Wimbledon All England Club, Lord's Cricket Ground, The O2 Arena, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, and the Excel Centre
